Lives in Madrid.
Career
Twice invited as Spanish guest author at the Royal Court Theatre London and British Council’s International Residency for Emerging Playwrights 2007 and Spanish Voices 2008, where she participated in workshops by British playwrights Harold Pinter, Tom Stoppard, Martin Crimp and Simon Stevens, amongst others.
Works
Author of the theatre texts: Quijote Show (2000), Paisaje Transportado (2003) Estábamos destinadas a ser ángeles (2006), Flashback (2007), La mejor posibilidad de ser Alex Quantz (2008) and La cortesía de los ciegos (2008). In 2012, she premiered her version of La Regenta in Los teatros del Canal in collaboration with Marina Bollaín and Estábamos destinadas a ser ángeles in Panama.
Awards
With her first novel, El ingrediente secreto (Algaida, 2006), she won the XI Premio Ateneo Joven de Sevilla in 2006. Her novel Mitología de Nueva York (Algaida 2010), won the Premio de Novela Ateneo de Sevilla 2010. Other acknowledgements of her work include La orden de los descubridores awarded by the Cátedra de Lengua y Literatura Española St. John’s University of New York and the Premio Nacional Cultura Viva 2009 for Best Emerging Writer.
